Exercise Physiology Services and Fees
Access Exercise Physiology is a mobile service meaning we can meet you at your home, local park, recreation facility, or workplace.
Fees are inclusive of GST where applicable and include Exercise Physiologist travel unless otherwise stated.

Medicare
If you have a chronic health condition, such as diabetes, osteoporosis, hypertension, chronic back pain, depression, ...... the list goes on, ask your doctor for a GP chronic condition management plan and referral for Exercise Physiology services. With a valid referral, you can access up to five Exercise Physiology services subsidised by Medicare each calendar year.

Access Exercise Physiology is a private and does typically attract a gap fee to afford us the capacity to provide high-quality, in home and community services; however you can choose for your appointment to be delivered via telehealth or phone to be bulk billed and avoid out-of-pocket expenses.

Service includes:
- Initial assessment covering your health history, current physical function, and health goals.
- Exercise program prescribed specific to your goals, initial assessment findings, and resources available such as space and exercise equipment.
- Follow up by Exercise Physiologist to support you become familiar and confident with your exercise program, how your specific exercise program supports you manage your health condition, and adjust or progress the exercises as appropriate.
- Final assessment to review change in health and physical function measures and establish long-term health goals.
- Report to your doctor after the first and final visits as required by Medicare.

Travel is capped at 30 minutes and 30 kilometres. You can arrange a location closer to Booragoon when you home is further than 30 minutes or 30 kilometres away.
Where applicable, such as gyms, your entry fees are at your expense. Provider’s entry fees are paid by Access Exercise Physiology.
At the end of the appointment you will be emailed your invoice including BSB and Account payment details. You can pay in cash at the time of your appointment if you prefer. You will receive your Medicare rebate into your bank account within 48 hours of receipt of payment of invoice.
You cannot claim Medicare benefits and gap fees under your private health insurance fund for the same appointment.

Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA)
If you have a Gold or White DVA Card you are eligible for Exercise Physiology services to manage your clinical health conditions and service-related injuries. Ask your doctor for an allied health treatment cycle referral for Exercise Physiology services. With a valid referral, you can access twelve Exercise Physiology services per cycle, or 12 months of Exercise Physiology services for TPI Gold Card holders, subsidised by Medicare each calendar year.

Your doctor may refer you for further Treatment Cycles if treatments should be continued for ongoing support in managing your health and goals.

- Subsequent Exercise Physiology services to support you become familiar and confident with your exercise program, how your specific exercise program supports you to achieve your health goals, and adjust or progress the exercises as appropriate.
- Review assessment at the eighth visit to measure progress towards goals including health and physical function measures and determine whether further treatment is required.
- Provide an End of Cycle Report to your doctor after the eighth visit as required by DVA.
Your doctor may refer you for further Treatment Cycles if treatments should be continued for ongoing support in managing your health and goals.

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
Do you, or someone you care for, have a disability that would benefit from physical therapy to improve physical function, health and fitness, and capacity to engage in daily activities at home and in the community? We work collaboratively with people with disabilities and their supports to make therapeutic exercise accessible and meaningful.
Access Exercise Physiology a Registered NDIS Provider allowing us to support self-managed, Plan-managed, and NDIA-managed participants through registration groups Exercise Physiology/ Personal Training (0126) and Therapeutic Supports (0128). We provide physical therapy under Improved Health and Wellbeing (12), Improved Daily Living Skills (15), and Assistance with Daily Life (01) support categories.
Upon establishment of a Service Agreement, support will include:
Therapy supports are charged in line with the National Disability Insurance Scheme Pricing Schedule. Exercise Physiology therapy including direct service, telehealth, and non-face-to-face activities cost $161.99/hour or part-thereof. Exercise Physiology provider travel labour costs $80/hr or part-thereof.
Travel is typically capped at 30 minutes and 30 kilometres from Booragoon. Please contact us to discuss further if you require additional travel.
Client entry fees, e.g. gym entry, are at the client’s expense. Provider’s entry fees are paid by Access Exercise Physiology.
Short Notice Cancellation Policy: Appointment charged in full when appointment cancelled within two business days.

- Exercise Physiology sessions at an agreed location (e.g. home, school, recreation centre, hydrotherapy facility, other).
- Personalised exercise program and additional resources to support you work towards your goals in between appointments. Exercise programs are provided in an accessible personalised format. To date we have done audio files for people with vision impairment, PDF file to view on the phone while at the gym, and picture books and video exercise programs for people to follow at home.
- Assessment and NDIS Plan Reassessment Report performed near the end of your Service Agreement documenting therapy provided to date and future recommendations.
- Where required, team meetings with other support providers to identify strategies to best support you and your goals.

Workers Compensation Exercise Physiology Allied Health Services
If you have a Workers Compensation claim, you can chose Access Exercise Physiology for your exercise physiology allied health services.
Working closely with yourself and other parties, we'll develop an exercise rehabilitation plan that works for you and supports you to engage in home, work, and community activities throughout your recovery and return to work. For many people, injury rehabilitation is the first time they engage in exercise, use exercise equipment, or learn safe manual handling techniques. We strive to support you throughout your recovery and give you the skills you need to confidently engage in exercise rehabilitation and return to work activities. If you need exercise therapy for your recovery from a workplace injury, and consultations at your home/ work/ exercise facility suit your needs, ask your case manager or treating medical practitioner to refer you to Access Exercise Physiology.
Pre-approved exercise physiology allied health services are invoiced directly to the insurer in accordance with the Workers Compensation Health Services Fees Order. Otherwise, payment is required after each service and a receipt is provided for you to get reimbursed by the insurer once your claim is accepted.

Gain access to Exercise Physiology services no matter where you are with Telehealth.
Telehealth appointments are provided via Zanda Telehealth, a secure telehealth platform. You will receive an email with a link to access your telehealth appointment with no need to download special software.
If you prefer not to use Telehealth or don't have access to internet or a laptop, we can provide Exercise Physiology appointments by phone.
Telehealth is available for Medicare, NDIS, and privately funded appointments. Telehealth is also supported by some private health insurers.
Telehealth appointments are provided via Zanda Telehealth, a secure telehealth platform. You will receive an email with a link to access your telehealth appointment with no need to download special software.
